Verumnect

01

What is Verumnect?

Verumnect is a Web3-powered social media platform that combines the familiarity of modern social networking with the principles of decentralization, privacy, and digital ownership. The name derives from Latin verum (truth) and connect — a platform built on the foundation of authentic human connection.

Unlike traditional platforms that harvest personal data, require phone numbers or email addresses, and monetize user behavior, Verumnect takes a fundamentally different approach: your identity is your own.

"In a world of data brokers and surveillance capitalism, Verumnect exists to give people back control of their digital identity."

— Aprillian, Founder

Creating an Account

Getting started on Verumnect requires only four pieces of information. There is no email verification, no SMS code, and no identity document required.

1

Choose a Display Name

This is the name shown to other users. It can be your real name, a nickname, or any name you choose. You can change this later in your profile settings. Maximum 50 characters.

2

Pick a Username

Your username becomes your unique handle on the platform in the format username.verum. For example: lian389.verum. Usernames are lowercase, can contain letters and numbers, and cannot be changed after registration. Choose carefully.

3

Set a Password

Create a password of at least 6 characters. This password is used to log in on your current device. If you forget it, you can only recover your account using your seed phrase — not by email or phone.

4

Select Your Country

Select the country you are located in. This is used for profile display and community purposes. It does not affect platform access.

Save Your Seed Phrase CRITICAL

After registration, you will be shown a 12-word seed phrase. This is shown exactly once. Write it down on paper and store it in a safe, offline location. This is the only way to recover your account if you forget your password or lose access to your device. Anyone who has your seed phrase can access your account.

03

Seed Phrase & Account Recovery

The seed phrase is the cornerstone of your Verumnect identity. It is a sequence of 12 randomly generated English words that together form a cryptographic key tied to your account.

What is a seed phrase?

A seed phrase (also called a mnemonic phrase or recovery phrase) is a human-readable representation of a cryptographic private key. It was popularized by Bitcoin and Ethereum wallets as a secure, offline-storable backup method. Verumnect uses this same technology to secure your account identity.

How to Recover Your Account

1

Go to the landing page

Tap "Recover account with seed phrase" on the main screen, or tap "Forgot password?" on the Sign In page.

2

Enter your 12-word seed phrase

Type all 12 words in the correct order, separated by spaces. The words are case-insensitive. Double-check the spelling of each word carefully.

3

Set a new password

Choose a new password for your account. You will be logged in immediately after a successful recovery.

Warnings

Never share your seed phrase with anyone — not even Verumnect support.
Verumnect staff will never ask for your seed phrase.
If someone asks for your seed phrase, they are trying to steal your account.
Store it offline — not in screenshots, cloud notes, or messaging apps.
If you lose your seed phrase and forget your password, your account cannot be recovered by anyone.

04

Security & Privacy

Verumnect is designed from the ground up with privacy as a core principle, not an afterthought.

Zero Personal Data Required

No email address, phone number, government ID, or personal information is required to create an account. Your identity on Verumnect exists independently of your real-world identity.

Cryptographic Identity

Your account is secured by a cryptographic seed phrase — the same technology used in Bitcoin and Ethereum wallets. Your identity cannot be transferred or duplicated without this phrase.

Password Hashing

Your password is never stored in plain text. It is processed through a one-way cryptographic hash function (bcrypt) before storage. Even Verumnect administrators cannot see your password.

JWT Authentication

All sessions are authenticated using JSON Web Tokens (JWT) — a secure, stateless authentication standard. Tokens expire automatically and are never stored permanently on the server.

No Data Selling

Verumnect does not sell, rent, or share user data with advertisers, third-party data brokers, or any external entity. Your activity on this platform stays on this platform.

Scam Detection

The platform includes an automated suspicious message detection system. Messages that exhibit patterns consistent with scams or phishing are flagged with a warning, protecting users from fraud.

One verified account

The only account on Verumnect with an official verification badge is @aprillian.verum, the founder's account. All other verified-looking accounts are impostors. There is no paid or application-based verification program at this time.

Platform Features

Feed

The home feed displays posts from people you follow, in chronological order. Posts can include images, videos, and text captions. You can like and comment on posts, and tag other users using @username. Stories from followed accounts appear at the top of the feed and disappear after 24 hours.

Reels

Short-form vertical videos that play in a TikTok-style fullscreen feed. Scroll up and down between reels. You can like reels, leave comments, and control audio. Any video post can be marked as a Reel during creation.

Explore

Discover content from all public accounts on the platform — not just people you follow. A great way to find new creators and connect with the broader Verumnect community.

Direct Messages

Private, one-on-one conversations with any user. Supports text, images, files, and voice notes. Real-time delivery powered by WebSocket technology. You can see when the other person is typing. Messages are not end-to-end encrypted in the current version.

Group Chats

Create group conversations with multiple members. Groups have a name, description, and member list. Any member can chat in the group. Group admins can manage membership. You can leave a group at any time.

Voice Notes

Record and send audio messages directly within any chat. Tap the microphone icon to start recording. The recording will be uploaded and sent automatically when you stop. Voice notes appear as playable audio bubbles in the conversation.

AI Assistant

A built-in AI assistant accessible from the top navigation bar. Ask questions, get summaries, translate content, brainstorm ideas, or analyze uploaded files (images, PDFs, documents). The AI retains conversation context within a session.

Message Translation

Every text message in chats includes a translation button. Tap it to translate the message into your preferred language. Supports English, Indonesian, Malay, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Arabic, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Russian, Hindi, Thai, and Vietnamese.

06

Crypto Wallet

Verumnect includes a non-custodial Web3 wallet integration that allows you to connect your existing cryptocurrency wallet and interact with blockchain assets directly from within the platform.

What is a non-custodial wallet?

A non-custodial wallet means Verumnect never holds, stores, or controls your cryptocurrency. We only provide the interface to interact with your wallet. Your private keys and assets remain entirely in your control, secured by your own wallet provider (e.g., MetaMask).

1

Install MetaMask

Download and install the MetaMask browser extension or mobile app from metamask.io. Create or import a wallet and secure it with your MetaMask seed phrase (separate from your Verumnect seed phrase).

2

Connect Your Wallet

In Verumnect, navigate to Profile → My Wallet, then tap "Connect MetaMask". Approve the connection request in your MetaMask popup. Your wallet address and ETH balance will appear.

3

Send & Receive

Use the Send function to transfer ETH to any Ethereum address. Use the Receive function to display your wallet address for incoming transfers. All transactions are processed directly on the Ethereum blockchain — Verumnect does not take any fees or commissions.

Important Wallet Warnings

Verumnect is compatible with EVM-compatible wallets (Ethereum, Polygon, BSC, etc.).
Always verify recipient addresses before sending — blockchain transactions are irreversible.
Verumnect is never responsible for lost funds due to incorrect addresses or scams.
There are NO official Verumnect giveaways involving cryptocurrency. Anyone claiming otherwise is a scammer.

07

Community Rules

Verumnect is built on the principle that all users are equal. To maintain a safe, respectful, and authentic environment, all users are expected to follow these community standards:

Respect others

Treat every user with dignity regardless of their background, opinion, or country.

Be authentic

Post genuine content. Do not impersonate other users or create fake accounts.

No spam or scams

Do not send unsolicited promotions, fake investment offers, or requests for money.

No harassment

Bullying, threats, and targeted harassment of any kind will result in account removal.

No illegal content

Do not post content that is illegal in your jurisdiction or violates the rights of others.

No explicit content

Sexual, violent, or graphic content is not permitted on this platform.

Users who violate these rules may have their content removed or account suspended. There is currently no formal appeals process — decisions by the platform team are final.
